Fish the Snake River in Hells Canyon

North America's Deepest River Gorge

The Snake River in Hells Canyon is an excellent fishery for all types of fishermen. It provides opportunity to fish for Steelhead, Chinook Salmon, Sturgeon, Smallmouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, and an occasional Channel Catfish. Our guides specialize in a variety of fishing techniques. Some of which include back trolling, drifting, cast and retrieve, bait fishing, and fly fishing. We strive to accommodate all fishermen from the novice to expert levels.

Steelhead

The most popular Steelhead fishing is best from October through February. Anglers have the opportunity to fish for Steelhead runs returning back to the Grande Rhonde River, Salmon River, Imnaha River, and Snake River. These rivers combine to provide on average 80,000 catchable returning fish. Don’t forget, in late September and early October an angler typically has a good opportunity of hooking into a Fall Chinook Salmon while on a Steelhead charter.

Sturgeon

The Sturgeon in the Snake River are prehistoric looking fish that can reach up to 12-13 feet in length. The larger fish can reach weights exceeding 350 pounds. The Snake River Hells Canyon fishery is a Catch-And-Release fishery with excellent populations of big fish for the sport fishing challenge. Although Sturgeon Fishing is year-round in Hells Canyon, we recommend booking April through October, which allows opportunity for Smallmouth Bass and Rainbow Trout as well.

Sightseeing Trips

Experience the Snake River Hells Canyon and Salmon River of No Return in Idaho and Oregon and enjoy the beautiful rugged canyons and whitewater they have to offer. Historically, there are multiple old homesteads, mining areas, Native American remnants, and Nationally Registered Historical Structures to visit. Along the trip enjoy wildlife viewing with opportunities to see deer, elk, black bears, world class bighorn sheep, river otters, and occasionally cougars, bobcats, and wolves.

Personalized Trips

Just a few of our past unique experiences have included their groups wanting to simply focus on spending river and beach time.  Furthermore, we have catered to family charters, work associates, meetings, team building getaways, weddings, wedding groups, Native American pictograph and petroglyph searches, and beach BBQs. We have even helped organize private group fishing competitions. No matter what the request might be, we will do our best to cater to the experience and nonetheless we have the availability of lodging to expand the options offered.

Customer Testimonials

We had a wonderful day with Brian Thomas, he is a excellent in every aspect of his business. e.g. handling the boat, facilitating the pictures and drone footage that we needed, having interesting stories at various points of interest, providing a good lunch, and river etiquette. And, to top it all off, he was a great human being. One example: he helped my brother with every aspect of the trip that was a challenge to him. This is deeply appreciated, particularly in view of the fact that we had a fair amount of gear to move around, and I am not as stable as I used to be. We all appreciate the help you gave us, and we wish you and yours nothing but the best.

I had the most AMAZING time!!! I have told many people about it and showed pics and video and I have some people that would like to go. I am ready to go back already! And yes I’m the one that hated fishing and like to just ride in the boat. But this experience changed that, I’m ready to reel in my OWN sturgeon now. (ha ha) Again, just wanted to tell you and Brad what an AWESOME job you guys did and we had a BLAST!!! Thank You!
